Take-5© Rimfire World Championship

Divisions

Updated for 2009

Take-5© is friendly to all gun and action types.

Five Divisions - see notes below

OPEN This is the “anything goes” class for both rifles and pistols. Almost any enhancement and modification can be used, including scopes, optical sights, muzzle brakes, compensators, gas stabilizers, etc. Open class firearms should, however, retain the safety mechanisms. The vast majority of .22’s in this class will be semi-automatic pistols and rifles.
OPEN-M/O OPEN, Manually Operated: a new category for 2009. With more double-action .22 revolvers being used and with many people using rifles with either scopes or optic sights, OPEN-M/O is the place to be. All the rifles are bolt action (including T-bolt) and are either magazine or tube feed. No semi-automatic rifles in this class. Almost any enhancement and modification to the revolver or rifle can be used, including scopes, optical sights, muzzle brakes, compensators, gas stabilizers, etc. OPEN-M/O firearms should, however, retain the safety mechanisms.
LIMITED Limited defines the stock classification for rifles and pistols. Iron sights are mandatory, meaning stock "notch and post" type sights, although fiber optic sights and adjustable rear sights are allowed. Replacement barrels are allowed. No scopes or battery powered sights, no muzzle brakes, compensators or gas stabilizers are allowed.
LIMITED-M/O LIMITED, Manually Operated: bolt action rifles (including T-bolt), both magazine and tube feed, plus double-action revolvers are in this class. They must also follow the rules for “Limited”.
COWBOY Single action revolvers (“six shooters”), lever action and pump rifles are in this class. Additionally, the contestant must wear at least a cowboy hat  and boots while competing. Full cowboy attire is suggested. **In this division ONLY, shooter may use two S/A revolvers !
Notes: it is acceptable to use a handgun and rifle that are in different classes, following these general rules:  a) if either the handgun or rifle is in the Open Class, the entire entry is in the appropriate Open Class;  b) if either one is in Cowboy and the other is in Limited or Open, the entire entry is in the appropriate Limited or Open Class.
